Dr. BENARD NSAMBA

Hello World! Welcome to my webpage :).
I am currently a research group leader of the "Max-Planck - Humboldt research unit" performing astronomy research between the Max-Planck Institute for Solar System research in Göttingen - Germany and Kyambogo University in Kampala - Uganda. I also lead the "Max-Planck partnership group" established between Max-Planck-Institut fur Astrophysik (MPA) in Garching - Germany and Kyambogo University (KyU) in Kampala - Uganda. Our research activities are designed to accelerate the development of astrophysics research in Uganda. My research interests focus mainly on exploring stellar interior physics of solar-type stars using asteroseismic techniques. I also investigate the impact of stellar model physics on stellar parameters determined using forward modelling methods. In addition, my research activities are also directed towards essential contributions to the preparatory activities of the ESA's PLATO (PLAnetary Transits and Oscillations of stars) space mission.
